Hello there! We kind of took a long vacation from our blog, but we have been even busier than before since you last heard from us. Activites and events have taken place here in Us and down there in Congo.
Wao! The famous bridge is finally completed and being used; we now have 62 kids on campus, the school is growing, but not without a lot of struggles. Our main and even pressing needs now are: completing the building, furnishing the school and hiring a principal or at least a head teacher/supervisor, boost our individual sponsorship (this is our most reliable means of fundraising), purchasing a vehicule for the orphanage; the vehicule we had was on loan and was taken back a month ago by the missionary group who owns it; very hard without a single vehicule. We also need to start farming on our beautiful big piece of land; we need funds for this great project, you bet!.
Last Valentine weekend was just a blessing of true Love to Mercy for Children: we had two special Valentine dinners put together back to back, on Friday 12th and on Saturday 13th. The first one was in Lakeland, Florida, a home dinner sponsored by the Vanderpoel Family. Around 40 friends showed up for the evening. The following day, we had a dinner dance and silent auction in St. Cloud; around 150 friends and families showed up for the beautiful event. Both events were very successful. We are very grateful to the Vanderpoel family and to St. Cloud team. Possible mission trip this coming summer; are you interested?
